Janice Barringer Ballet Technique – Complete Ballet Syllabus
Janice Barringer Ballet Technique
The Janice Barringer Ballet Technique is one of the most comprehensive graded ballet training systems available for dance studios. Developed specifically for the needs of studio dancers—who often train in multiple genres—this syllabus provides a clear, progressive structure that builds strong technique, musicality, placement, and artistry.
The full system includes nine levels: Introduction to Ballet, Pre-Ballet, Grades 1–4, and three transition levels between each grade. Every level offers teachers a consistent roadmap for safe, thoughtful progression at the barre, in the center, and across the floor.
Audio - Each level includes a 3-disc audio set:
- Disc 1: Vocal instruction and musical counts by Janice Barringer
- Disc 2: Instrumental piano tracks
- Disc 3: Technique notes and class materials (data disc)
- All audio is also available as digital downloads.
Video - Every level is also available on DVD or as a digital video. Video includes:
- Janice Barringer teaches each exercise
- Ballet students demonstrating each movement
- Technique notes included as printable files
- These visual resources give teachers clear demonstrations and consistent guidance for presenting each level of the syllabus.
Bundles - Audio/Video bundle options combine all materials from each level:
- Vocal instruction
- Instrumental tracks
- Technique notes
- Full instructional video with demonstrations
Bundles offer the most complete teaching tools for implementing the syllabus in a studio setting.
This graded system provides teachers with a reliable, versatile curriculum that supports clean technique, artistic development, and long-term student success.
