Grade 2 to 3 Transition Class

Grade 2 to 3 Transition Class is the sixth level of Janice Barringer’s Ballet Technique and is designed for dancers ages 11–13. This transitional level provides an essential bridge between the technical demands of Grade 2 and the more advanced work introduced in Grade 3.

The exercises in this class gradually increase in complexity while reinforcing the strength, placement, and musicality developed in earlier levels. Movements become quicker, more coordinated, and more refined. For example, battement dégagé is performed at a faster tempo; battement soutenu and fondu incorporate relevés; the adagio grows more intricate; and pirouette en dedans is introduced through supported half turns to build confidence and correct mechanics.

This level allows dancers to strengthen their technique, develop consistency, and build the control needed to advance successfully into Grade 3. It continues Janice Barringer’s commitment to providing structured, developmentally appropriate ballet training for the studio environment.

This three-disc collection provides teachers with the full musical framework for presenting the transition class, including original piano compositions, vocal instruction, and teacher reference materials.

Three-Disc Set Includes:

  • Disc 1: 18 original piano tracks composed for Janice Barringer’s Ballet Technique
  • Disc 2: 18 piano tracks with clear vocal instruction by Janice Barringer
  • Disc 3: Technique notes for teacher reference and standard-format audio files
