Introduction to Ballet Technique

Introduction to Ballet is the first level of Janice Barringer’s Ballet Technique and is designed specifically for beginning ballet students ages 5–6. This level gently develops early coordination, balance, posture, and musical awareness while introducing foundational ballet concepts in a playful, age-appropriate way.

At this stage, students learn to move with the music, explore natural parallel positions, and build safe alignment habits. Turnout is introduced very slowly and thoughtfully, ensuring young dancers gain strength and understanding without strain. Barre work is intentionally not included in this level. Instead, Janice focuses on center-floor activities that nurture rhythm, spatial awareness, and early classical movement skills.

This three-disc collection gives teachers everything needed to present a well-structured beginner class, complete with original music, guided instruction, and class materials.

Three-Disc Set Includes:

  • Disc 1: 36 original piano tracks composed for the Introduction to Ballet syllabus
  • Disc 2: 36 piano tracks with clear vocal instruction by Janice Barringer
  • Disc 3: Technique notes for teacher reference and standard-format audio files
