Anthony Foster (MW+)
Anthony Foster is the Co-Owner & Vice President of Sole Unique Dance Complex and the Executive Director of Soleunique Dance Company.
Fosters’ diverse training background includes authentic tutelage in the forms of classical ballet and pioneered jazz technique from the acolytes of the late George Balanchine and Gus Giordano. His training background consists of The School of Ballet Chicago, Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago & Barat College Conservatory of Dance.
His dance collective is a culmination of styles, methods, and disciplines, including contemporary, abstract, and classical ballet, funk, hip hop, house, and jazz brought on by early-aged exposure to street-style, breakdance, and gymnastic training (1996 IHSA State Gymnastic Team member).
He has graced the stage leading such ballets as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Les Patineurs, and The Last Waltz. His conclusive theatrical dance performances include positions with Chicago dance companies NoMi and Elements Contemporary Ballet. He has been featured in music videos for artists Echo and Groove Jam and has television credits, inclusive of season 1 of So You Think You Can Dance.
Anthony has been working with the dancers of Soleunique Dance Co., of which he is executive director, choreographer, and owner, since 2004 and has had the honor of teaching as faculty for Columbia College Chicago, The College of DuPage, Embracing The Dream Dance Conference, and Dance Masters of Wisconsin.
