Danceography on Tap, Vol. 2 by Darryl Retter is a collection of three recital-ready tap dances that combine performance choreography with progressive classroom training.
Progression Connection
What makes Danceography different is Progression Connection.
Each dance includes 10 across-the-floor progressions built directly from movement found in the corresponding choreography. Teachers can introduce these combinations during the technique-focused part of the dance year, giving students time to develop the movement vocabulary, musicality, coordination, and performance qualities they will later use in the recital dance.

My Dancin’ Shoes - Low Intermediate Tap | Grade 3 | Ages 9-11
A funky blues-inspired tap dance built around the idea that putting on your dancing shoes can make the troubles of the day disappear. The playful groove gives young tappers plenty of opportunity to develop rhythm, musicality, clean footwork, and confident performance. The choreography can also work well for adult tap students at a similar level.

Live For Now - Intermediate Tap | Grade 4 | Ages 11-13
A high-energy tap routine with a lively retro-swing feel and a message about enjoying the moment. The choreography challenges intermediate dancers with fun rhythmic patterns, musicality, coordination, and performance energy while keeping the overall feel upbeat and entertaining.

Try To Keep Up With Me - Advanced Tap | Grade 6 | Ages 15+
An intense advanced tap dance driven by a mostly instrumental track and the recurring challenge, “Try to keep up with me.” The music sets up opportunities for rhythmic exchanges between groups, giving experienced tappers a demanding workout in precision, musicality, stamina, and confident performance.
