Danceography on Lyrical, Vol. 2 by Darryl Retter is a collection of three recital-ready lyrical dances for students ranging from low intermediate to advanced dancers, complete with choreography videos, music, choreography notes, and a teaching system designed to connect technique training directly to recital choreography.
Each routine has been developed for the dance studio and recital stage, giving teachers choreography they can confidently build into their season.
Progression Connection
What makes Danceography different is Progression Connection.
Each dance includes 10 across-the-floor progressions built directly from movement found in the corresponding choreography. Teachers can introduce these combinations during the technique-focused part of the dance year, giving students time to develop the movement vocabulary, musicality, coordination, and performance qualities they will later use in the recital dance.
When recital choreography begins, the movement is no longer completely new—the dancers have already been working with important elements of it in class. With three dances included, Danceography on Lyrical, Vol. 2 provides 30 Progression Connection across-the-floor exercises.

Just To Get To You – Low Intermediate Lyrical | Ages 9-11
A sweet, imaginative lyrical dance about going any distance to be together with a friend. The music has a warm, storybook quality that gives young dancers an opportunity to explore expression, musicality, storytelling, and connected lyrical movement.

A warm, blues-influenced lyrical piece centered on the importance of family. Positive lyrics and an easygoing musical feel give dancers the opportunity to perform with personality, emotional connection, and maturity while telling a story that is immediately relatable.

Edge of Epiphany – Advanced Lyrical
A challenging lyrical work created for experienced dancers. The contemporary electronic-ballad sound and more demanding choreography give advanced students material that requires strong technique, musical awareness, control, and mature performance quality.
