Danceography on Lyrical, Vol. 8 by Darryl Retter is a collection of three recital-ready lyrical dances that combine performance choreography with progressive classroom training.
Progression Connection
What makes Danceography different is Progression Connection.
Each dance includes 10 across-the-floor progressions built directly from movement found in the corresponding choreography. Teachers can introduce these combinations during the technique-focused part of the dance year, giving students time to develop the movement vocabulary, musicality, coordination, and performance qualities they will later use in the recital dance.

Hero - Lyrical | Ages 9-11
An uplifting lyrical piece built around the idea that there is a hero inside each of us-we simply have to discover it. The positive, age-appropriate message gives young dancers an opportunity to develop musicality, movement quality, and expressive storytelling while performing choreography they can connect with personally.

Age of Rebellion - Intermediate Lyrical | Ages 12-14
A powerful, heavily orchestrated pop piece about standing up for what is right. Written in support of the “No Bully” movement, the music gives intermediate dancers meaningful material for exploring strength, conviction, and emotional performance while working through more challenging lyrical choreography.

Letting Go - Advanced Lyrical
A driving rock-ballad-inspired piece about releasing the difficult things in life and reaching toward something better. Guitars, strong percussion, and an expressive vocal create a dynamic musical landscape that gives advanced dancers opportunities for powerful movement, musical interpretation, and mature performance quality.
