Danceography on Lyrical, Vol. 6 by Darryl Retter is a collection of three recital-ready lyrical dances that combine performance choreography with progressive classroom training.
Progression Connection
What makes Danceography different is Progression Connection.
Each dance includes 10 across-the-floor progressions built directly from movement found in the corresponding choreography. Teachers can introduce these combinations during the technique-focused part of the dance year, giving students time to develop the movement vocabulary, musicality, coordination, and performance qualities they will later use in the recital dance.

When I Find My Voice – Low Intermediate Lyrical | Ages 9-11
A beautiful pop ballad built around the idea that every young person has the potential to make a difference. The uplifting theme gives dancers an opportunity to explore musicality, expression, and emotional storytelling while creating a warm and memorable moment on the recital stage.

I Know – Intermediate Lyrical | Ages 12–14
A haunting and introspective lyrical piece that explores questions many young teens begin asking themselves: Who am I? What am I supposed to be doing? What will I become? The choreography gives dancers room to connect emotionally with the music while developing performance quality and expressive movement.

Conversations in My Mind – Advanced Lyrical
An emotionally layered piece about navigating difficult moments and the internal conversations that can accompany them. The choreography follows that journey from uncertainty and challenging thoughts toward a more balanced place, giving advanced lyrical dancers substantial material for both technical and dramatic performance.
