Memories From My Childhood, Vol. 1 | Janice Barringer | Grade 1–2 Ballet | Ages 6–9

Memories From My Childhood, Vol. 1 by Janice Barringer presents a creative Grade 1–2 ballet class designed for children ages 6–9. Featuring 23 familiar childhood songs arranged specifically for ballet exercises, this program makes learning classical technique engaging and enjoyable for young dancers.

The class begins with a beautiful arrangement of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” for plié and concludes with “Happy Birthday” for reverence. Along the way, familiar favorites such as “The Itsy-Bitsy Spider,” “Yankee Doodle,” and “The Wheels on the Bus” bring musical variety to the classroom. While the exercises extend beyond the traditional syllabus, they remain appropriate for Grades 1 and 2 of Janice Barringer’s Graded Ballet Syllabus, providing teachers with fresh material that reinforces foundational ballet technique.
