Danceography on Lyrical, Vol. 1 – Digital Video + Music Download

Danceography on Lyrical, Vol. 1 by Darryl Retter

Danceography on Lyrical, Vol. 1 by Darryl Retter is a collection of three recital-ready lyrical dances that combine performance choreography with progressive classroom training.

Progression Connection
What makes Danceography different is Progression Connection.

Each dance includes 10 across-the-floor progressions built directly from movement found in the corresponding choreography. Teachers can introduce these combinations during the technique-focused part of the dance year, giving students time to develop the movement vocabulary, musicality, coordination, and performance qualities they will later use in the recital dance.

Dances Included

In A Perfect World - Low Intermediate Lyrical | Ages 9-11
A sweet and imaginative lyrical dance that looks at childhood through the question: what would make life perfect from a kid’s point of view? The gentle theme gives dancers an opportunity to explore expression, storytelling, musicality, and lyrical movement.
Running time: 2:48

Making Memories - Intermediate Lyrical | Ages 12-14
A lyrical ballad with an uplifting message about taking the time to create and
appreciate meaningful memories. The choreography gives dancers room to develop emotional expression, musicality, and connected movement while performing with maturity and warmth.
Running time: 2:46

I Quit - Advanced Lyrical
A powerful lyrical dance built around the idea of turning a negative into a positive. Written with older teens in mind, the message centers on resilience and choosing not to give up, giving advanced dancers meaningful material to explore through both movement and performance.
Running time: 2:55

Why Teachers Love This Collection
Danceography on Lyrical gives teachers more than three finished recital routines. The Progression Connection exercises allow dancers to work with movement concepts and technical vocabulary from each piece before applying them to the choreography.

That creates a clear progression from classroom training to recital performance, while giving teachers three distinct tap pieces for different ages, levels, and performance styles.
