Danceography on Jazz, Vol. 8 by Darryl Retter is a collection of three recital-ready jazz dances that combine performance choreography with progressive classroom training.
Progression Connection
What makes Danceography different is Progression Connection.
Each dance includes 10 across-the-floor progressions built directly from movement found in the corresponding choreography. Teachers can introduce these combinations during the technique-focused part of the dance year, giving students time to develop the movement vocabulary, musicality, coordination, and performance qualities they will later use in the recital dance.

The lyrics explore missing a close friend while holding on to the connection between them, giving intermediate dancers an opportunity to combine emotional expression with strong jazz technique, musicality, and mature performance quality.

A confident rock-pop jazz dance about learning from mistakes, becoming stronger, and choosing your own direction. The sassy musical style and self-assured message give advanced teen dancers plenty of opportunity to explore dynamics, attitude, musical interpretation, and strong stage presence.
