Bridge Over Troubled Water | Darryl Retter | Advanced Tap (Grades 6–7) | Teens
Bridge Over Troubled Water brings a fresh rhythmic interpretation to the Simon & Garfunkel classic. Featuring smooth, reggae-influenced grooves, a subtle reggaetón feel, and contemporary vocal harmonies by Brandon Jarrett, this arrangement transforms the familiar ballad into an engaging tap performance with a modern musical character.
Designed for advanced tap dancers, this Grade 6–7 routine challenges dancers to explore intricate rhythms, musical phrasing, and precise footwork while maintaining a smooth, relaxed performance quality. The contrast between the song's familiar melody and its updated rhythmic foundation offers opportunities to develop musicality, coordination, and expressive performance.
