Danceography on Jazz, Vol. 7 by Darryl Retter is a collection of three recital-ready jazz dances that combine performance choreography with progressive classroom training.
Progression Connection
What makes Danceography different is Progression Connection.
Each dance includes 10 across-the-floor progressions built directly from movement found in the corresponding choreography. Teachers can introduce these combinations during the technique-focused part of the dance year, giving students time to develop the movement vocabulary, musicality, coordination, and performance qualities they will later use in the recital dance.

Spinnin’ Around - Low Intermediate Jazz | Ages 9-11
A fun, funky jazz dance built around the idea of a young girl finding her purpose and discovering where she belongs. The catchy pop groove gives dancers plenty of opportunity to develop jazz technique, musicality, personality, and confident performance while connecting with an encouraging, age-appropriate message.

Dance Love Sing - Intermediate Jazz | Ages 12-14
An energetic club-style jazz routine centered on being yourself and refusing to let others hold you back. Powerful vocals and a driving dance groove give intermediate dancers the opportunity to work on strong jazz technique, dynamics, musical interpretation, and confident stage presence.

Hot Topic - Advanced Jazz | Teens
A sophisticated advanced jazz dance with a radio-ready pop groove, sassy lyrics, and a funky street-inspired feel. The storyline explores rumors and the idea that the “hot topic” of the moment is not always the truth, giving teen dancers material with both attitude and substance. The choreography challenges advanced performers with musicality, dynamics, strong jazz technique, and mature performance quality.
