Darryl Retter is president and creative director of MusicWorks Unlimited ~ The Ultimate Dance Teacher Resource Company. He has empowered and supplied the “tools of the trade" needed for studio owner success and significance across the globe. Over the past four+ decades, his unwavering commitment to producing creative, age-appropriate, and exciting materials continues to elevate and inspire dancers, dance educators, and dance advocates.

Mr Retter is an esteemed industry professional and has performed in movies, sitcoms, music videos, and live performances in both Ballet and Jazz concerts. He is a respected master teacher, a teacher to teachers, and is nationally recognized by Dance Masters of America, Professional Dance Teachers Association, Joe Tremaine Conventions, Adrenaline Conventions, Dance Makers Convention, Hollywood Vibe Convention, and Hoctor’s Dance Caravan to name a few. He continues to guide and consult prominent studio owners across the US, Canada, and abroad. 

Darryl and his wife Linda operated Retters Academy of Dance in Los Angeles for over three decades. Their renowned studio received numerous regional and national accolades and acclaim, including Top 5 Dance Studios in LA. This dynamic duo has been featured in publications Dance Spirit, Dance Teacher, Dance and Fitness, and Dance Teacher Now. The Retters graced the cover of Dancer magazine in a feature spread that highlighted their undeniable influence in the dance industry. Darryl Retter produced Dance Teacher Connection (DTC), a teacher-only event providing much-needed connections, materials, products, and classes to motivate, educate and empower dance educators.

Mr Retter takes great pride in producing and/or presenting the nation's top dance educator’s works, choreography, and syllabi through his MusicWorks Company. He is honored to continue the legacy of his mentor and lifelong friend - Mr Al Gilbert. In doing so, provide the dance nation with Mr. Gilbert’s one-of-a-kind graded Tap Syllabus and his classic and timeless collection of songs and dances.

Darryl Retter is a dance teacher advocate. He knows what studio owners need to be successful.
